Apulia - Luxury

Visitors can travel to the Basilica di San Nicola to visit the remains to St. Nicholas. Thanks to its solid construction, the basilica was the only building to survive the Nazis' destruction of Bari during World War II.

The Caffe Borghese in Bari is a Belle Epoque café and wine bar located in a historic stone building. The café is popular among young professionals. The café's cocktails and appetisers are both popular.

The church of Santa Croce in Lecce features beautiful columns, windows, pediments, and balconies which feature a baroque influence. Lecce's town center, the Piazza Sant'Oronzo, is bordered by many cafes and pastry shops, as well as a Roman column surmounted by an 18th-century statute of Lecce's patron saint, Orontius.

Lecce's Wine Bar Corte dei Pandolfini is a popular wine bar serving the area's best wines and an enormous selection of cured meats and local cheeses. Although the wine bar serves small plates, visitors can easily eat a delicious meal here, and the wine bar stays open until 1:30 a.m.

Each July, the city of Lecce is the location where many drama productions and operas are held. Lecce also hosts a baroque music festival in its churches each September.
