Ancona is a port city featuring quaint cobbled streets and a beautiful waterfront. The town is filled with wide piazzas and 19th century brick and stucco buildings which are painted rich shades of orange, pink and ochre. You will find many chic shops which sell exquisite goods including handmade linens and herbal cosmetics here, as well as many cafes and pastry shops.

Set in a beautiful valley, Ascoli Piceno allows visitors to drive around the town, but much of the centre is closed to traffic so visitors can tour the town and its sights safely on foot. Each summer, Ascoli Piceno hosts the Joust of the Quintana, a medieval style joust festival. The festival includes processions of beautiful horses which wind through the streets of the historical part of town. One of Ascoli Piceno's oldest restaurants is Ristorante Tornasacco. The restaurant boasts many meaty local specialties including stuffed olives, homemade pasta with lamb, pork and veal sauce and bull steak.
